This is an incredibly delicious red with rich dark fruit. It hits the palate with sweet tannins and shows an excellent balance of acidity, driving the fruit into an excellent and lingering finish. Mostly boysenberry and plum notes on the nose - this wine stands out and if you are paying in the $12 neighborhood you are getting a steal!

The wine was kissed with a touch of Petite Sirah and aged in small French and American oak barrels for 14 months. The result is a well-dressed, ruckus country brawler of surprising style and grace. Nicknamed The Sophisticate because it expresses the elegant side of Zinfandel, this wine has a sexy nose with anise, caramelized sugar, and spicy blackberry jam with a knot of cherry cigar box. On the palate, strong vanilla, brooding fruit, spices of dark rum... big flavors, yet refined and stylish.
